Council of Europe’s Tbilisi School of Political Studies

Program Alumnus

Years2016–2017

Completed the Tbilisi School of Political Studies program in 2016–2017. The school is part of the Council of Europe’s network of Schools of Political Studies, which brings together emerging leaders from public institutions, civil society, journalism, law and business.

Its work promotes democratic culture, the rule of law and informed participation in public life. The program provides a setting for discussion of political, legal and electoral institutions and the challenges of democratic development.

The Tbilisi school was founded in 1999. Its programme addresses democratic institutions, the rule of law, judicial independence, fair elections, civil society’s participation in electoral processes, checks and balances, and the role of independent media. It creates a space for dialogue among participants from different professions and political perspectives.

In 2017, he participated in the Council of Europe’s World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg and gave an interview to the Council of Europe. The photograph and interview on this page document that participation.

His relationship with the school continued after graduation. At the invitation of its founder and director, Armaz Akhvlediani, he attended alumni seminars in Borjomi in December 2024 and on 1–2 May 2025. In his public accounts, he described discussions spanning international affairs, politics, economics, philosophy, science, culture, art and history, and highlighted mutual respect, civic responsibility and disciplined use of time.

In June 2023, he joined the school’s visit to Javakheti. On 30–31 October 2025, he returned to the Borjomi seminar as a 2017 graduate. His public posts and photographs document these continued connections with the school.
